St. James Healthcare, established in 1881, is the only acute-care provider in Butte, Montana, and the largest hospital serving the seven-county area surrounding Butte. St. James Healthcare is a 67-bed, full-service acute-care hospital and offers services in more than 30 medical specialties, including 24/7 emergency medical services, cardiovascular services, orthopedics, medical and radiation oncology, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and women’s and children’s services. The St. James Medical Group, formed in 2011, now includes St. James Heart Center, St. James Surgical Associates, St. James Urology, St. James Cancer Center, St. James Rocky Mountain Clinic and St. James Emergency Medicine. In 2018 for the second year in a row, St. James was recognized as a Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital in the Nation by The Chartis Center for Rural Health.

The Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer & Chief Operating Officer (CNO / COO) reports to the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for SCL Health, with matrix connection to the President of St. James Healthcare, while interfacing closely with the other care site CNOs across the health system to advance clinical integration, leverage our skill and scale, and to promote appropriate standardization and “systemness” of SCL Health. The cornerstone of this role is the development of meaningful relationships and ongoing dialogue and communication with leaders and hospital medical staff, working in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to improve clinical outcomes; the ultimate result being the achievement of the “ideal patient experience” coupled with providing an engaging environment for all to practice cohesively in the provision of care.

Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family. Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage. But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mind and social well-being. To that end, we’ve launched a Healthy Living program to address your holistic health. Healthy Living includes financial incentives, digital tools, tobacco cessation, classes, counseling and paid time off.

As an Executive, you will receive additional benefits including two times salary basic life insurance, as well as reimbursement for tuition, professional dues and subscriptions. We also offer financial wellness tools, retirement savings and deferred compensation plans and an additional supplemental retirement plan for executives. To show our commitment to you and to assist with your transition into our organization, we will also offer a sign-on and relocation stipend and reimbursement when applicable.

With this position, you are eligible to participate in the At Risk Compensation (ARC) Plan. This plan enables SCL Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The ARC Award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected SCL Health Board-approved goals.
