SpaceNav is looking for an experienced software engineering manager with a demonstrated success record for mentoring and managing engineering teams. SpaceNav is a Colorado-based applied mathematics and aerospace engineering firm developing mission critical flight dynamics applications used to support satellite operations.
The software engineering manager will work with various stake holders to set priorities, develop schedules, and create an achievable execution strategy for the engineering team to follow. The software engineering manager will be responsible for ensuring software delivery deadlines are met. The software engineering manager will provide technical guidance, build and maintain a staffing plan, and resolve problems as they arise. This position requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated and at times work with little supervision. The ability to interact with other professionals in various sectors is critical.
Responsibilities
- Improve existing software development processes and procedures; ensuring consistent standards and best practices across multiple product development initiatives
- Help create long-term roadmaps while ensuring short-term sprint objectives are met
- Develop and maintain integrated master schedule that spans numerous product development activities
- Serve as the Scrum Master for the software development team
- Work with engineers from other disciplines to develop software requirements and support design artifacts
- Help foster a positive and inclusive team culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics
- 5+ years’ relevant engineering experience
- 3+ years’ experience in a technical lead/engineering management position
- Past experience using various Project Management tools (MS Project, Merlin, etc)
- Strong background in object orientated programming paradigm
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodology (CI/CD)
- Experience with cloud services, such as AWS
