Employees work where needed, at a city site and/or in the field at least two days a week, and telecommute remotely at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days.

Denver International Airport is seeking a Senior Vice President of Parking and Transportation to increase revenue with innovative programs, effectively lead an organization of dedicated employees, improve organizational efficiency through effective change management, and attain sustainable guest satisfaction and loyalty through world class parking and transportation services.

DEN is more than a world class airfield; it’s a complex enterprise that generates over $800 million in annual revenue from a wide variety of sources. The Parking and Transportation division contributes the largest non-airline revenue and performs a diverse array of landside and airside functions for this highly complex organization. Broadly, your responsibility will be for managing and directing the development of strategies, people, policies, and operating procedures for landside parking, ground transportation, landside revenue, permitting, lost and found, and transportation services.

We are looking for a leader with superb business and political acumen, sound understanding of strategic business practices, excellent people leadership, is outcome oriented, has experience working with staff at all levels, and a proven track record of excellent performance within a very complex enterprise.

The Senior Vice President of Parking and Transportation reports to the Chief Operating Officer and has the following responsibilities:

  • Makes short and long-term and precedent-setting decisions impacting multiple functional and operational areas involved in landside parking, ground transportation, landside revenue, transportation services, lost and found, and permitting. Develops and implements policies, programs, operating procedures and practices for the division, and effectively manages operating costs
  • Leads the performance of the divisions as related to the airport’s Strategic Plan and the associated airport and division level key performance indicators (KPIs). Develops and implements strategies for optimizing performance with the goal of meeting or exceeding the established KPI performance benchmarks. Conducts analyses that support negotiations of leases and other agreements. Ensures all budgets remain at or below established targets
  • Fosters an atmosphere of innovation, inclusivity and continuous improvement in order to challenge the organization to think creatively, especially as it relates to positive passenger experience opportunities
  • Coaches, mentors, and challenges staff to be their best through effective communication, support and accountability. Champions diversity and inclusion and leads staff development initiatives that include training, development and succession planning. Establishes performance expectations and standards for all levels of employees to achieve or exceed performance metrics and prepare them for the future
  • Represents the organization’s positions, initiatives and interests with a focus on the delivery of superior customer service; ensures staff is sufficiently knowledgeable and dynamic regarding customer service protocols optimizing performance with the goal of meeting or exceeding the established KPI performance benchmarks. Conducts analyses that support negotiations of leases and other agreements. Ensures all budgets remain at or below established targets

About You

The preferred candidate will have at least three (3) years of Senior Leadership experience in the aviation/ parking transportation industry, and preferably in the public sector, which must include:

  • Demonstrating a skill set at leading large complex organizations
  • Demonstrated (proven) leadership skills managing professional and technical level staff
  • Demonstrated management level experience which must include: budget and fiscal oversight responsibility, evaluation of business processes, and policy and decision-making experience including planning and organizing multiple programs, projects, and operations

The ideal candidate for this job will possess experience and training above the minimum standards, and will have performed similar duties in an airport similar to DIA or for a major airline, and can demonstrate that their values align with the organizational values of DIA.

  • Education: Business, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, Aviation Management, Management, Political Science, or a related field
  • Experience: Three (3) years of management level work experience which must have included managing professional level staff specific to the functional or operational area in the field of study. One (1) year of management experience must include budget and fiscal oversight responsibility, evaluation of business processes, and policy and decision-making experience with planning and organizing multiple programs, projects, operations or functions
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Two (2) years of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment

FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.

Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.

$132,410 – $225,097 a year
